Apply for Membership

To be eligible for membership in the Anthem MUG, you must first be a member of the Sun City Anthem Computer Club. Membership in the Sun City Anthem Computer Club costs $15 per year and you must be a resident of Sun City Anthem. You may request membership in the SCA Computer Club here.

Do NOT use the Contact Us form to apply for membership in the Anthem MUG. Log in to the MUG website. Click on My profile in the navigation block, then click on Apply for role. The default (and only) selection is for MUG Membership. Click on Apply. Once the administrator approves your application you will be sent an e-mail acknowledging your approval.

Welcome to Our Site

The Sun City Anthem Macintosh User Group was formed in January 2008. Members of this MUG are also members of the Sun City Anthem Computer Club. The membership of this club, which numbers over 1100, are Senior Citizens who live in Sun City Anthem in Henderson Nevada.
The Computer Club has a large classroom with 28 Macintosh computers which are dual booted to both Macs and PCs.

MobileMe Account Is Going Away

We'd like to share some exciting news with you about iCloud — Apple’s upcoming cloud service, which stores your content and wirelessly pushes it to your devices. iCloud integrates seamlessly with your apps, so everything happens automatically. Available this fall, iCloud is free for iOS 5 and OS X Lion users.

What does this mean for you as a MobileMe member?

When you sign up for iCloud, you'll be able to keep your MobileMe email address and move your mail, contacts, calendars, and bookmarks to the new service.

Apple Anounces New Operating System

At the opening of the World Wide Developers conference, Steve Jobs introduced LION the new operating system for the iMacs and iOS 5 for the iPod Touch, iPad, and iPhone.
iOS 5 has over 200 new features and some of them are:
No longer need an Mac or PC to sync your iDevices. They will now sync over wwiFi thru iCloud.
New message service to all iDevices.
NewsStand where you will find all your magazine and newspaper subscriptions.
When you plug in you iDevice at night it will now automatically sync with iCloud and download new software and back up the device.

A Short History of Apple

While doing some research on my family tree, I came across some history of Apple.

Did you know that the Apple Computer Company was established on April 1, 1976.
The Apple II was introduced on April 16, 1977.
The Apple Lisa was introduced on January 19,1983.
The Macintosh computer was born on January 24,1984.
Steve Jobs left Apple computer.
The ill-fated Apple Newton was introduced August 4, 1993.
Steve Jobs returned to Apple Computer in 1997.
On August 15, 1998 along came the iMac.
The iPod was introduced on October 23, 2001.
Then came the iPhone on January 9, 2007.

To use, just copy the address that starts with feed. Then go to "Mail" and click on the"File Menu" then click on "Add RSS Feeds". In the window that opens click on "Specify the URL for a feed" and paste the address in the box and click on Add.

iLife Overview

The Sun City Anthem Computer Club will be presenting a series of classes introducing the programs in the iLife Suite. The classes will start with iPhoto then iMovie, Garageband and ending with iTunes. Please check the Classes Tab for the date and time to enroll.
